D002: Baby Doll

Female Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier, aged 9 months

This baby girl was found out in the cold as a stray and no one stepped up as the owner, though she's sweet as can be, though she can be shy at first but becomes very playful and loving as can be.
She was in animal control far too long and will be going into boarding, another kennel, so she really needs a home of her own where she'll know the world isn't a harsh, mean place.
She's full of love and only needs someone for that love to go.
A fenced area to run and play in, but a warm and safe place to snuggle with family after is ideal.
Or someone to teach her to leash walk if living in an apartment where they approve her bully blend, would be fine.
You need to have a vet reference.
She loves other dogs but she's very timid at first a new situations.

Adoption fee is $350

D006: Bama

Male Dachshund, aged 12 years

Bama's whole family is gone now so his entire life has been up-ended.
He's going to need a very calm, loving home where there's someone home most of the time, preferably with no children, though he's fine with kids around now and then, as long as they're very respectful of a dog's space!
He certainly has earned the right to his space and peace.
He's so very loving, easy going and laid back, loves a lap and lots of loving, which he gives back 100 times over!
He still has his puppy good looks and it's truly hard to believe that he's a senior, but he's been VERY well cared for his whole life (I have a stack of vet records to prove how well he was cared for!).
He loves being outside but make sure he potties before coming back in so he doesn't mark his territory.
I'm thinking that may be why family didn't take him in. But "man pants" (belly bands) take care of that problem!!
His teeth are white, there's no grey on him but I have his birthdate so I know his age or I would say he's lots younger. He can also be playful when he wants to be. He has many years left to love whatever family is lucky enough to be chosen.
If you can provide the same care, have lots of love, no stairs, an excellent vet reference, are home most of the time, have a great groomer for his lovely long hair, will go out with him to potty in a secured fenced yard, furnish fluffy beds, etc, then apply for this wonderful gentleman online at
MadisonARF.org
Bama is waiting on you!!

D029: Ethel

Female Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Mix, aged 11 months

These pups were found on the dumpster at a vet clinic!
We've gotten them vetted and they're ready to go to their forever homes who understand HERDING BREEDS because they're blue heeler/possibly border collie blend.
They'll need a fenced yard to run, potty and play in with larger children and canine siblings who'll teach them what's what, but they're INSIDE FAMILY MEMBERS, not outside yard ornaments.
If you can make a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to these babies(not all together of course), please apply for one at
Madisonarf.org
The adoption fee is $300 each.

D052: Kruz

Male German Shepherd Dog/Belgian Shepherd Malinois, aged 1 year

Kruz was picked up as a stray in Madison so we assume he was dumped by his owner because they had no idea of the treasure they had in this magnificent animal.
He is a big baby but will grow into a real guardian of his family, as the breed normally is.
As all GSD, he will need a job (lots of exercise) so he remains a good tempered dog instead of a bored one.
So a secured fenced yard is a MUST for potty and PLENTY of play (but he will be an inside family member, of course). He is still a puppy at ABOUT a year old so plenty of time to train him the way you want him to be trained!
He is not good with cats.
Being part Malinois, he will definitely need a lot of exercise.

D004: Puddin'

Female Labrador Retriever/Mix, aged 2 years

She was placed in a closet when her owner was arrested and left there for animal control to find.
She's sweet as can be, good with others (and lived with another dog), friendly, possibly house trained, as she left a clean kennel.
Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention, fully vetted.
This previous girl needs a home where her owner is law abiding and will be staying home to take care of her.
She would love a secure fenced yard to run and play in then come in and crash with you to binge watch the TV shows you love.

Adoption fee is $300

D056: Shellie

Female Shepherd/Mix, aged 6 years

This precious big girl (almost 70#) is a true gem.
She's been vetted and we have given her the 12 month Proheart heartworm prevention shot for 2023.
She's a pretty chilled out dog but loves to run after a ball.
She doesn't like other dogs to come up and get in her business but she won't seek them out and get in theirs.
She's more of a loner and prefers to be the only child.
She is fostered with an older dog and several cats and has done very well with them. She has storm anxiety and gets extremely nervous during a thunderstorm.
She can (and has!) cleared a 6 ft privacy fence during a storm if let out during one or given access to a doggie door. Don't do it.
She's fine with a crate to be on the safe side while owners are working or away.
Shellie has a silky, hair-like coat and does not shed like most shepherd dogs, though she does shed, of course.
She would really prefer to have someone at home with her to give them her unconditional attention and love.
She is a wonderful girl and loving as can be, but simply anxious during storms and fireworks somewhat.
For the RIGHT person(s) we have a sponsor to sponsor her adoption fee, but only if we feel it is the perfect home for this baby girl..
Her swimming pool will even go along with her because she LOVES her swimming pool!
